My name is Babacar M'Baye and I am from Senegal, West Africa. My friends at home call me Baba or Babs. I am an Associate Professor in the Department of Pan-African Studies and the Department of English of Kent State University (Kent campus). I moved from Olympia, Washington State, where I taught at Evergreen State College for four years. Great reggae concerts in Seattle!
What attracted me to KSU?
I was attracted to Kent State by the excellent reputation of its departments, faculty, and students. Besides, the North East Ohio region has always captivated my imagination. The Kent State Community has been very amicable. I am learning a lot from helpful colleagues and staff about ways to do successful work here. I am also learning greatly from students who are very enthusiastic and intellectually-motivated. Did I forget to say that Columbus and Cleveland have some of the greatest music concerts?
